Indoor Farming: A Contribution in Solving Global Cultivation Problems?

I will talk about the problems I hear from cultivating vanilla outside and the advantages of protected cultivation. What information you need in growing vanilla or plants in general.  Why protected cultivation could be useful.  What types of protections you could distinguish, what the challenges are in vanilla growing and how I grow vanilla in The Netherlands.

Fields of expertise

• Experience in general practical applied research with flowering and green pot plants, ornamentals, vegetables and ingredient plants like vanilla, black pepper, papaya, passionfruit, herbs, medicinal plants, perfume plants

• (former) specialist on growth and development on various pot plants especially on flowering of for instance Begonia, Hydrangea, Kalanchoë. Also involved in experiments with crop health (botrytis), substrates, fertilization (effects of low phosphate), (diffuse) light.​
